Correct answer: maximum

Explanation: The word 'maximum' fits grammatically as it indicates the highest level of benefit, aligning with the context of obtaining the best possible outcome from the coffee machine. It is a superlative form that emphasizes the extent of benefit, which is appropriate here.

Meaning: 'Maximum' means the greatest amount or degree possible, indicating that you will gain the most benefit from using the machine correctly.

Wrong options:

  • ultimate: While 'ultimate' suggests the final or best version, it does not specifically convey the idea of quantity or extent as effectively as 'maximum'.
  • absolute: 'Absolute' implies something that is complete or total, but it lacks the quantitative aspect that 'maximum' provides in this context.
  • complete: 'Complete' suggests wholeness but does not convey the idea of the highest level of benefit, making it less suitable than 'maximum'.
Correct answer: attention

Explanation: The word 'attention' is the most appropriate choice as it indicates careful consideration, which is necessary when handling the coffee machine. It fits grammatically and contextually, as it aligns with the action of being cautious during the unboxing process.

Meaning: 'Attention' refers to the act of focusing on something carefully, which is essential when dealing with the jug to avoid any damage.

Wrong options:

  • interest: 'Interest' implies curiosity or engagement but does not convey the necessary caution required in this context.
  • care: While 'care' suggests caution, it is less specific than 'attention' in this context, which emphasizes the need for focused observation.
  • notice: 'Notice' implies awareness but lacks the connotation of careful consideration that 'attention' provides.
Correct answer: required

Explanation: The word 'required' fits grammatically as it indicates a necessity, which is appropriate in the context of the amount of coffee needed for brewing. It aligns with the instructions that specify what is needed for proper use of the machine.

Meaning: 'Required' means something that is necessary or essential, indicating the specific amount of coffee needed for optimal performance.

Wrong options:

  • expected: 'Expected' suggests anticipation but does not convey the necessity that 'required' does in this context.
  • sought: 'Sought' implies searching for something, which does not fit the context of measuring out coffee for use.
  • wanted: 'Wanted' indicates desire but lacks the authoritative tone of necessity that 'required' provides.
Correct answer: immerse

Explanation: The word 'immerse' is the correct choice as it specifically means to submerge something completely in a liquid, which is not allowed for the machine. This fits grammatically and contextually, emphasizing the caution needed when cleaning.

Meaning: 'Immerse' means to completely submerge in water, which is something that should be avoided with the coffee machine to prevent damage.

Wrong options:

  • cover: 'Cover' implies placing something over another but does not convey the idea of submerging, making it irrelevant in this context.
  • sink: 'Sink' suggests going down into water but is less precise than 'immerse' regarding the action of submerging completely.
  • float: 'Float' indicates remaining on the surface of water, which is the opposite of what is being advised against in the instructions.
Correct answer: supplier

Explanation: The word 'supplier' is the most fitting choice as it refers to a source that provides goods, which is appropriate in the context of obtaining descaling granules. It aligns grammatically and contextually with the idea of where to acquire the product.

Meaning: 'Supplier' means a person or company that provides products or services, indicating the source for the descaling granules needed for maintenance.

Wrong options:

  • provider: 'Provider' is a more general term and does not specifically imply the commercial aspect of supplying goods like 'supplier' does.
  • seller: 'Seller' implies someone who sells but does not necessarily indicate a consistent source for products, making it less suitable here.
  • contractor: 'Contractor' refers to someone who undertakes a contract, typically in construction or services, which is irrelevant in the context of purchasing coffee machine supplies.
