Printed "itemise", the speaker says "scientist"

Explanation: Here the speaker says "a few dozen scientist who". They start with different letters, so listen from the first sound.

Printed "resignation", the speaker says "education"

Explanation: The speaker says "the National Center for Science education", not "resignation". The two words end the same way, so listen to the start to tell them apart.

Printed "mixture", the speaker says "together"

Explanation: Listen for "put together a list of". Both words begin with different letters, so hear the whole word.

Printed "sprouted", the speaker says "thousand"

Explanation: You will hear "one thousand scientists named Steve". They look different at the start, so check the whole word.

Printed "incompetency", the speaker says "approximately"

Printed "stanzas", the speaker says "problems"
