Now there's lots of studies, so there's a centre in Berkeley called the Centre for Greater Good, which you could look up. And they have lots and lots of studies that they collect and report on topics like altruism and empathy, and also at Stanford, there's a centre for studies of, I think it's called compassion and altruism, I think is the is the acronym for the Centre at Stanford. Which again, they conduct lots of research and are looking into the neurobiology of it. Uh, there are certain areas of the brain that seem to be activated with empathetic practises like loving kindness meditation, for example, an area called the posterior cingulate cortex, which is responsible for emotional memory retrieval and other things. And that's one area that's been shown to enlarge with either. Forgiveness, medication or mindfulness meditation, and very interestingly, it also enlarges with weightlifting exercise in our studies. So not sure why weightlifting makes you enlarge the same part of your brain that makes that is enlarge.

Printed "conclude", the speaker says "collect"

Explanation: On the recording the words are "they collect and report". The printed and spoken words share the first letter, so wait for the rest of the word.

Printed "comparison", the speaker says "compassion"

Explanation: Listen again to "called compassion and altruism". Both words start and end the same, so trust the sound, not the meaning.

Printed "And", the speaker says "Which"

Explanation: In the audio you hear "Which again, they conduct". The first letters are different, so listen from the first sound.

Printed "accelerated", the speaker says "activated"

Explanation: Here the speaker says "seem to be activated with". Both words start with the same letter and end the same, so hear the middle part.

Printed "courted", the speaker says "cortex"

Explanation: The speaker says "posterior cingulate cortex", not "courted". Both words start with the same letter, but they end differently, so listen to the end.

Printed "enhance", the speaker says "enlarge"

Explanation: Listen for "that's one area that's been shown to enlarge". The printed and spoken words look similar at the start, so focus on the ending.

Printed "weightputting", the speaker says "weightlifting"

Explanation: You will hear "enlarges with weightlifting exercise". Both printed words start and end the same, so listen for the middle part.

Printed "mind", the speaker says "brain"

Explanation: On the recording the words are "same part of your brain". The first letters differ, so pay attention to the first sound.

"Stanford" matches the audio

Explanation: "also at Stanford, there's a centre for studies of". Stanford may seem like a trick, but the speaker says it exactly, so do not click it.

"altruism" matches the audio

Explanation: The phrase "topics like altruism and empathy" looks familiar, and it matches the audio. Do not click it.
