Result:
PCR—the polymerase chain reaction—is a crucial tool. The DNA implification technique is used in genome sequencing, forensics and the diagnosis of various diseases. To give researchers more genetic material to work with, a PCR instrument repeatedly heats and cools an original biological sample. Which gives enzymes a chance to replicate the DNA millions of times so it can be more easily analyzed. Such sequence amplification would be a boon to diagnosis in a doctor's office—especially when an infectious disease is spreading rapidly. Unfortunately, genetic tests usually take a day or two to complete. But researchers at the Lawrence Livermore National Arbitory aimed to speed up the process. First they created an extremely fast thermal cycle, in which a sample experiences 45 degrees Celsius temperature changes per second. Then they searched for DNA amplification enzymes that could operate at that thermal cycling speed. And they found two that worked without any tweaking. The technique accomplishes a billion-fold amplification in well under three minutes. The work is in the journal Analyst. The system could make it possible to identify food contamination virtually instantly. Or an infection before you even finish coughing.

Printed "reorganization", the speaker says "implification"

Explanation: Listen again to "The DNA implification technique". They start with different letters, and both words end with the same two letters.

Printed "coarseness", the speaker says "diagnosis"

Explanation: In the audio you hear "the diagnosis of". The printed word begins with a different letter and makes no sense here, so listen.

Printed "sequences", the speaker says "researchers"

Explanation: Here the speaker says "To give researchers more". They start with different letters, so listen to the whole word.

Printed "secretly", the speaker says "repeatedly"

Explanation: The speaker says "instrument repeatedly heats", not "secretly". The words begin with different letters, and both end with the same two letters.

Printed "stimulatory", the speaker says "Arbitory"

Explanation: Listen for "Lawrence Livermore National Arbitory". The printed word starts with a different letter, and both words end with the same two letters.

Printed "discourages", the speaker says "accomplishes"

Explanation: You will hear "The technique accomplishes a". The words start with different letters, and both end with the same two letters.

"PCR" matches the audio

Explanation: "PCR, the polymerase chain reaction" looks like a code and may seem odd. The speaker says it exactly as printed, so do not click it.

"Analyst" matches the audio

Explanation: "The work is in the journal Analyst" may look like a job title and confuse you. It is spoken exactly as printed, so do not click it.
