Option 1: "from a number of angles"

Explanation: The text emphasizes that individuals with a broad education can approach issues from various perspectives, which aligns with the idea of being better problem solvers. The phrase 'from a number of angles' directly supports this notion of diverse approaches to problem-solving, reflecting the main idea of the text that values the study of humanities.

Option 2: "with a specific goal in mind"

Explanation: This option suggests a narrow focus on achieving a particular outcome, which contradicts the text's argument that a broad education allows for multiple perspectives. The text advocates for generalists who can think broadly rather than specialists with a singular goal.

Option 3: "in a less emotional manner"

Explanation: While this option implies a rational approach, it does not capture the essence of the text, which highlights the value of diverse interests and perspectives. The author does not suggest that studying humanities leads to less emotional responses; rather, it promotes a more comprehensive understanding of issues.

Option 4: "in a way that enriches society"

Explanation: Although this option seems positive, it is too vague and does not directly relate to the specific argument made in the text about problem-solving. The text focuses on the ability to approach issues from various angles, rather than solely on societal enrichment.
