Using impassioned plea for gun control. Of nail guns, that is. Because accidents involving nail guns have gone through the renovated roof. In 2005, almost 15000 people were treated in US emergency rooms for nail gun injuries. That's twice the number in 2001 and three times the injuries back in 1991, according to data released in the April 13th issue of Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, put out by the CDC. The rising popularity of do it your selfing seems to be behind the unfortunate trend. Most injuries are puncture wounds to the hands, followed by hits to the forearms, legs and feet. Six percent of the wounded wind up being hospitalized. Although better safety instruction would no doubt help, the report’s authors suggest a systems approach to the problem - they’d like nail guns to be impossible to fire until the nose was depressed, which would presumably happen only when the gun was flush up against whatever needed nailing. By the way, 96 percent of the injured were males, which could mean that they are doing most of the work, or - that women read the instructions.

Option 2: "that women read the instructions"

Explanation: This option is correct as it directly reflects the concluding thought of the text. The author mentions that the high percentage of injured males could imply that they are doing most of the work or that women read the instructions. This aligns with the overall theme of the text regarding safety and instruction.

Option 1: "they do receive any instructions"

Explanation: This option suggests that the injured individuals receive instructions, which contradicts the context of the text. The text implies that better safety instruction would help, indicating that not all individuals are receiving adequate instructions. Therefore, this option does not align with the main idea of the text.

Option 3: "they do it well"

Explanation: This option implies that the individuals are performing tasks effectively, which is not supported by the text. The text discusses injuries and the need for better safety measures, not the quality of work being done. Thus, this option does not fit the context.

Option 4: "they have longer forearms"

Explanation: This option introduces an irrelevant physical characteristic that is not mentioned or implied in the text. The text focuses on the injuries and safety measures related to nail guns, not on anatomical differences. Therefore, this option does not relate to the main idea.
